Pre-Flashed Sonoff S31 Smart Plug With Energy Monitoring (TASMOTA)

This is the best Wifi Smart Plug I have ever used for controlling power and monitoring power usage.  This smart plug has been pre-flashed by me with Tasmota and ready to be connected to your WiFi and integrated into Home Assistant.

I DON’T RECOMMEND USING THE STOCK SONOFF FIRMWARE.  Flashing with Tasmota avoids using the Sonoff App which requires you to provide personal information and relies on the cloud.  With Tasmota, you maintain local control within your home LAN.

For Tasmota to communicate locally with Home Assistant, you need a free and easily configured MQTT Broker setup.

I describe how to flash these in my Washing Machine Video using an FTDI adapter but I will flash it for you if that seems like too much of a hassle.   Also, be aware that there is an S31 Lite version that has on/off functionality but does not have energy monitoring.
