FTDI Serial Adapter for flashing ESP8266 Devices

This FTDI adapter allows you to flash serial devices like the Sonoff S31 that use the ESP8266 chip with custom firmware like Tasmota or ESPHome to integrate them with Home Assistant to maintain local control of your personal information.  They appear as a regular USB Com port on your PC and sends the binary data through the transmit/receive (RX/TX) pins to the chip you are flashing.  By using a custom firmware you can avoid using a proprietary app and cloud services that collect your personal data and slow down responsiveness due to needing to talk to the internet to work.
